Okay, kind of a Nats auto. I did get this during his run with the Nationals.
For some reason I cannot fathom, this guy was a big deal in 1987. He was a 26-year old rookie with a .272/.330/.347 line. And he finished third in rookie of the year voting that year. Huh? My guess is it’s simply a testament to how weak the 1987 NL rookie crop was – Benito Santiago won that year, and out of the 10 top vote getters only he and Randy Myers went on to have significant careers. Anyway, here are all of Candaele’s 1987 XRCs and his 88 Topps RC.
I’ve set up a twitter account for the website, http://twitter.com/NatsCards. I’ll be posting new and upcoming updates to the twitter as warranted.
Another day, another loss. But hey, this time it all came together – the pitching, the hitting, and the defense was lousy! What can I say, really…this is the sum of the season.
Man, I loved this set back in the day.
