More Ryan Zimmerman: Chrome

I officially took the step of becoming a Ryan Zimmerman player collector recently. I know this is going to be a headache, but it’s worth a shot.

  1. Wow! Those are awesome! I have thought recently about collecting a few non-Rays players and Ryan is at the top of my list. The problem is, like the few others than I have considered collecting-Brian Roberts, Hanley Ramirez, Nick Markakis, Prince Fielder-Zimmerman has a huge fan base and his cards are tough to come by. I’ve also considered Jordan Zimmerman. Since I am sure you have watched millions more innings of the Nats than I have-how do you rate Jordan’s future?
    cheers!

Yeah, the biggest problem I see with player collecting these days is the massive amount of different issues, but you’re going to face that with any player, to be honest. I’m resigned to the fact that I’ll never truly complete a Zimmerman collection.

As for Jordan…pre-surgery, I rated him pretty highly. The guy has great stuff and I think will eventually be a #2/3 starter in a real rotation (which makes him our #1). I have no idea how he will work out post-surgery, unfortunately.

  3. Hey, shoot me an e-mail when you get the chance. I opted to collect Brian Roberts as my non-Rays player. I don’t anything fancy, but I do have a handful of Ryan Zimmerman cards set aside that you are welcome to. I collect the Tampa Bay Rays. In fact, if you wan’t all of Nationals cards (i don’t have many) maybe we can work out a trade. Thanks! marck
