1990 Best Jacksonville Expos #2

Brito

1990 Jacksonville Expos Best #17
Category:
Failed Prospect
Position: P
Bio/Summary: Mario is another one of the players in this set that never earned so much as a cup of coffee at the major league level. A bit of a bummer, for sure, and I guess it’s a bit of a mystery to me why he didn’t catch on somewhere as a reliever, at the very least. His ERAs look pretty decent, along with his WHIPs, but his K stats seem to be lost at a lot of levels, so I don’t know if his K/BB ratio was a problem.
Rating: 5/10 – Eh, fairly average minor league card. With one UGLY dude.

Bundy

1990 Jacksonville Expos Best #27
Category:
Coach
Bio/Summary: Lorenzo was a pretty light-hitting minor leaguer 1981 to 1989, before he became a coach with Jacksonville. Since then, he’s only had two shots at managing: one with Brevard County in 1997, and the second with Las Vegas in 2007. Neither blew the world away.
Rating: 3/10 – Boring coach card.

Carter

1990 Jacksonville Expos Best #18
Category:
Failed Prospect
Position: P
Bio/Summary: I vaguely remember Jeff Carter making a small dent in the majors in 1991 – as a White Sox. I was a bit surprised to see him as an Expo, even in the minors. There appears to have been nothing very noteworthy about him at the time, though he has gone to manage in the minors, compiling a 290-259 record in five seasons.
Rating: 4/10 – Nice pose, but it sucks that you can’t see his face.

Cianfrocco

1990 Jacksonville Expos Best #4
Category: Former Expo
Position: IF
Bio/Summary: Here we go; another noteworthy player at last. Archi stuck around for seven seasons in the majors, only cracking a 100 OPS+ once, but he was a decent enough utility guy to have around.
Rating: 5/10 –  Another standard minor league pose.
