Not Yet a National: Graham Hicks

Hicks

2008 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects #BDPP32
Position:
P
Bio/Summary: Hicks is certainly not one of the Nationals’ top prospects, but I don’t see why he wouldn’t stick as a reliever at some point. As a starter last year he put up a combined 1.80 ERA between rookie and low-A, but did not manage to strike out more than the innings he pitched. He also seems to have a control problem, as he walked two while striking out three. I guess it’s really too early to tell.
How Did I Get It?: Bought it from checkoutmycards.net.
Did You Know?: Hicks went 15-2 with 155 strikeouts in 119 innings for a 0.41 ERA in his last two seasons in High School.
Rating: 5/10 – Eh. Not a great card, but it is good to see one of the prospects in action and not just posing.
