1976 Topps #18
Position: P
Bio/Summary: Okay, so can you believe that’s a rookie card? It sure is. He looks old to me, but okay. Murray was strictly a reliever, and a passable one, for a good number of years. He had a stretch of years up until 1982 when he was fairly reliable if not spectacular (though he managed a 337 ERA+ in 1981).

How Did I Get It?: Bought it from checkoutmycards.net.
Did You Know?: One of Murray’s similar players is Dave Schmidt, who’s been covered here recently.
Rating: 6/10 – My card collecting white whale is the 1976 Topps set; I’ve been picking up cards for this set off-and-on since 2004. Murray was one of a bunch that I recently ordered, as I was trying to get as many Expos as I could. I dig the background; it’s nice to be able to see those old-school Spring Training ads, even if I can’t quite make out what they are. It reminds me of my childhood.
