Senators #9: Dick Bosman

Dick Bosman

1971 Topps #60
Bio/Summary: Bosman was a pretty good starter for the Senators, from what I can tell. In 1969, he led the league with a 157 ERA+ and had a 2.19 ERA, also leading the league. 1971 would be his last big year, as  his record and peripherals fell off after that. Still, a pretty good pitcher.
How Did I Get It?: Won it in a lot on eBay.
Did You Know?: Bosman was the pitching coach for the Chicago White Sox (1986-1987), Baltimore Orioles (1992-1994) and Texas Rangers (1995-2000). I remember his Orioles stint the best.
Rating: 8/10 – The 1971 set is pretty great, and I like this photo. Sure, it’s a simple Spring Training shot, but the palm trees add to it, as well as the late-day shadows.
